6061 6082 Marine aluminum extrusions
Although pure aluminum has extremely high corrosion resistance, it still faces severe challenges in salt water, and its strength is not enough to meet the bearing capacity of ships. Compared with pure aluminum, marine aluminum is usually alloyed with other metals (such as magnesium) to enhance its corrosion resistance. Marine aluminum alloy profiles are mainly used for ship structures and accessories. Common profiles include angle steel, square tubes, round tubes, etc.
6061 aluminum is a precipitation hardening alloy containing magnesium and silicon, used to manufacture marine accessories and hardware. This marine aluminum alloy has excellent weldability and good mechanical properties and is one of the most commonly used general-purpose alloys.
6082 aluminum alloy is a heat-treatable alloy with good formability, weldability, machinability and corrosion resistance. It has medium strength and can still maintain good operability after annealing. It is mainly used in mechanical structures, including bars, plates, pipes and profiles.
