Marine Grade Aluminum 5052

Marine grade aluminum sheets have the advantages of light weight, good corrosion resistance, good processing and forming performance, and non-magnetic properties. The 5052 aluminum sheet belongs to 5000 aluminum alloys and the main alloying elements are magnesium and silicon. The product has medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability, and good anodizing effect. In terms of the production process, the 5052 alloy is processed from semi-continuous ingot casting, homogenization, sawing, surface milling, heating, hot rolling, annealing, cold rolling, annealing, cold rolling, solution treatment, aging treatment, to shearing, leveling, inspection, and oiling and packaging.

The quality of 5052 aluminum plate has three key indicators. First, the structure is small and the performance is uniform. Especially for ultra-thick plates, the performance in the thickness direction is required to be uniform, and there should be no large performance fluctuations. For medium-thick plates and thin plates, there should be no large performance fluctuations in length and width.

The second is high dimensional accuracy. It mainly includes accurate thickness and accurate width, especially the most difficult and strict thickness accuracy, which will directly affect the performance and subsequent processing.

The last is to have good aluminum sheet shape. Plate shape includes flatness and plate convexity. Because the two have a great influence on subsequent processing and are irreversible.

The commonly used tempers are 5052 t6, t651, 5052 h32 and 5052 h34 aluminum. In general, the internal stress of T6 will be relatively large, and the processing will be deformed. Therefore, the most suitable state for processing is T651. The T651 state is stretched on the basis of T6 to eliminate internal stress. It is a high-quality aluminum alloy product that has undergone heat treatment and pre-stretching.
