5052 aluminum plate is a typical 5000 series aluminum sheet, featuring good tensile strength, fatigue strength and excellent corrosion resistance, especially high resistance to salt spray corrosion in marine environments. 5052 aluminum hardness is about 12H in Webster system and 120-160HB in Brinell system.
In the international code, 5052 aluminum plate can also be called almg2.5, which also means that the content of mg alloy (magnesium alloy) is around 2.5% (between 2.2-2.6), with low density (2.68), high strength, and strong machinability. It is an excellent product suitable for bending, stamping, stretching and other processing techniques.
The role of chromium in 5052 aluminum plates is similar to that of manganese. It improves resistance to stress corrosion cracking, increases the strength of the base metal and welds, and reduces the tendency of welding cracks, but its content generally does not exceed 0.35%.
